20 January 2011

With U2 touring the globe with their critically acclaimed 360° world tour, 360 Environmental saw it only fitting that they should attend and support the Perth concert. (After all, with U2’s tour and 360 Environmental sharing a name, we thought it was the least we could do.)

On Saturday 18th of December, 360 Environmental celebrated the end of 2010 in true rock-star style with their VIP attendance at the U2 concert. The night began at 6pm with 360 Environmental staff attending the Desire Cocktail Party inside the John Worsfold Room at Patersons Stadium (formerly Subiaco Oval). Through the glassed walls of the John Worsfold Room and in air-conditioned comfort, 360 Environmental nibbled h’orderves and sipped champagne whilst watching the crowds gather around ‘The Claw’ (the four-legged stage structure which set a world record for the largest concert stage structure of all time).

As the evening progressed, with drink in hand, 360 Environmental staff migrated to their seats for the supporting act.  New York rapper and music heavyweight Jay-Z came out onto the stage and had everyone bouncing and bopping along to his hip hop sounds which included tracks such as H to the Izzo and Empire State of Mind. Even his wife, Beyoncé Knowles, was spotted grooving along in her own private box at the side of the stadium.

With 360 Environmental revved up and on their feet, U2 took to the stage for what could only be described as no less than a 360° concert performance. 360 Environmental joined over 60,000 fans who packed Patersons Stadium to witness one of the world’s most famous and acclaimed rock bands in history perform their biggest hits including Pride (In the Name of Love), Walk On, With or Without You and Beautiful Day.

In what was a truly electric night, 360 Environmental finished the year celebrating their achievements and reflecting on all that was 2010, with a visual and aural feast that will never be forgotten.
