7 December 2011

In late November, 360 Environmental and some of our key Clients attended the Business Chicks Breakfast at the Pan Pacific in Perth. Cathy Burke, CEO of The Hunger Project Australia, provided an overview of the great work their organisation is doing. The Hunger Project is an agency that develops women's leadership skills to improve lives and lift people out of poverty. They work with local men and women in the villages of Bangladesh, India, Africa and Latin America to change mindsets and equip them with the leadership skills they need to make change happen.

Cathy shared her powerful personal story and share why she’s committed to finding a solution to this devastating problem. Cathy consults to many large Australian corporations on leadership and change management, and is a powerful advocate on the role women play as leaders both in Australia and overseas.

With Christmas approaching it was opportunity to be reminded of the United Nations estimated 1.02 billion hungry people in the world and that one in seven people in the world will go to bed hungry tonight.

It was a great morning to catch up with colleagues and Clients, and be reminded how lucky we are and the importance of the global community and family over the festive season.
