Tropicana Gold Project
AngloGold Ashanti Australia (on behalf of the Tropicana Joint Venture)
The Tropicana Joint Venture is a partnership between AngloGold Ashanti Australia Ltd (AngloGold; 70% stakeholder/manager) and Independence Group NL (30% stakeholder). 360 Environmental has provided general environmental management support to the Joint Venture since 2007. The majority of the Joint Venture’s tenements are located in the Great Victoria Desert, hundreds of kilometers from established mining infrastructure at Kalgoorlie. The remote location of the tenements has presented several challenges including limited existing biological information. Extensive biological surveys were required to allow meaningful assessment of the potential environmental impacts of exploration and mining activities.
