Environmental and Biological Services
The Environmental and Biological Services Team is a diverse group of staff with technical expertise in botany, zoology, rehabilitation, and GIS. Baseline surveys can be conducted by our team of specialists to assist clients with the identification and/or monitoring of biological values on their sites, enabling appropriate management actions to be identified and implemented. An adequate understanding of existing values is a key requirement in the environmental impact assessment and approvals process for any significant development. An early understanding of these values can provide important information in the design and implementation of a proposal, and often enable outcomes that are ‘best for project’, while not compromising on biological values. Once implementation is underway, our rehabilitation staff can assist in remediating the impacts of clearing and other disturbance, and can also assist with offset packages. The work of the team is underpinned by our GIS staff who can provide visual representation of data (2D and 3D) as well as data analysis and the selection of potential offset areas, if these are required for a proposal.
We work closely with the Resources, Land Development and Infrastructure Teams to deliver biological, rehabilitation and GIS expertise to a wide variety of industry sectors.
